Flutter SDK Enters GA for iOS & Android, Public Preview for Web

Ditto’s Flutter SDK is now production-ready for iOS and Android with full GA support, and we’re also introducing Flutter Web support in Public Preview to bring Ditto’s real-time capabilities to even more platforms.

We’re excited to announce two big updates for developers using Ditto's Flutter SDK.

With the release of Flutter version 4.9, the SDK has officially moved out of Public Preview and into General Availability (GA). This milestone is the result of extensive development and testing to ensure our SDK is production-ready, feature-complete, and fully supports both iOS and Android platforms.

During the Public Preview, Ditto’s Flutter SDK proved its reliability and ease of use. Now, with its GA status, we’re confident in customers deploying Ditto’s Flutter SDK for any production environment—whether you’re creating brand-new apps or adding advanced peer-to-peer features to existing ones.

But, that’s not all! As part of our ongoing commitment to supporting developers wherever they build, we’re also launching Flutter Web support in Public Preview. This early release lets you experiment with using Ditto to build real-time apps directly for the web, bringing the same core capabilities developers love from mobile to browsers. What’s New?

The Flutter 4.9 GA release includes the same support guarantees as our other GA SDKs, including semantic versioning (semver) compatibility. It also brings several key improvements:

  • Improved battery life for devices running the Ditto SDK
  • Reduced memory consumption
  • Faster and more reliable performance
  • Enhanced developer ergonomics through synchronous APIs
  • Support for Flutter Web

Getting Started

What’s Next?

This is just the beginning. With mobile support now Generally Available and web support entering Public Preview, we’re laying the groundwork for even broader platform coverage. Flutter Web GA is already on the horizon, and in the coming months you can expect continued improvements to make building with Ditto even faster, easier, and more powerful across all platforms.
